Social Tariffs for Broadband
Digital Kent is raising awareness of the broadband social tariffs available for Kent residents. Regulator, Ofcom, has urged all broadband firms to support low-income homes by offering discounted packages known as "social tariffs".
What is Ultrafast/Gigabit Broadband?
Ultrafast/Gigabit fibre broadband is capable of speeds over 1000Mbps and is the fastest broadband currently available. It is when fibre connections run to the premises and so do not use any copper network.
Digital Inclusion Fund
Thanks to a generous match funding programme from Kent County Council, the Kent Community Foundation's donors have raised over £350,000 for a new Digital Inclusion Fund. The aim of the funding, which will be administered by Kent Community Foundation, is to enable frontline organisations to enhance their digital offer and strengthen client-facing technology infrastructure (this is not for internal system upgrades such as client databases).
