Welcome to the Digital Champions Network
The Digital Champions Network is dedicated to empowering Kent residents by providing essential support for their digital and energy needs while offering valuable volunteering opportunities. Our goal is to foster stronger connections within local communities, bringing together individuals who are passionate about assisting others in Kent. As a Digital Champion, you'll have the chance to participate in various volunteering initiatives organised by Digital Kent, or you can receive support to create your own opportunities tailored to your local community. Join us in making a difference and enhancing the lives of those around you!
What is a Digital Champion?
A Digital Champion is someone who supports and improves the digital skills of residents to build digital confidence, motivation and new digital skills. Almost anyone can be a Digital Champion. You just need patience, understanding and good communication skills to support a variety of people.
As part of the network we offer multiple opportunities for our volunteers to get involved, you could be involved in:
- Digital Hubs
- Community Hubs
- One two one digital events
- Workshops
- And other opportunities

What is an Energy Champion?
An Energy Champion is a community volunteer who helps residents understand and manage their energy use and where to get help with energy saving. Energy Champions are not expected to give expert advice, their main role is to signpost people to the right help and resources.
You might help someone:
- Understand their energy bills
- Learn how to pay online or set up direct debits
- Explore comparison tools to find better tariffs
- Discover grants and local support for energy efficiency
- Find advice services, support schemes or financial help
- As an ambassador between the community and the support that exists, helping people feel less overwhelmed and more in control.
Volunteering as an Energy Champion gives you:
- Free training and support from Digital Kent and partner organisations.
- A sense of pride in helping your community.
- Opportunities to improve your digital skills and energy literacy.
- Experience for your CV and future opportunities in community support or sustainability.
- You become part of a supportive network of like-minded volunteers across Kent.
